Years of house arrest in her lakeside Yangon residence behind her, she now has the run of an office presided over by a portrait of her father Aung San, the murdered nationalist leader. But for all the trappings of freedom and power, she is still searching for something — the “one brave soldier” who will break ranks and help prise the generals’ grip from power.
